Christmas & January in Florida!

We were able to spend Christmas with my family in Utah, it was alot of fun. Christmas morning was crazy! My SEVENTEEN year old brother insisted that we all wake up at 7am to open presents!! The sun wasn't even up before he barged into our room and annoyed us until we finally woke up! We spent the morning opening presents and talking and eating. I made the best homemade cinnamon rolls (thanks to Emily's recipe!). They were HUGE and yummy too :) For Christmas Dave and I got a nativity set, a panini grill, our AMAZING wedding album, and a cute calendar from my parents! Let me just tell you about this wedding album-- it's AMAZING. I show everyone that steps foot into my house (hehe) It is 75 pages of perfect pictures that show every single detail of our perfect wedding! (I love it, if you can't tell). From Dave's parents we got (my favorite) Willow Tree Nativity, pictures, a cute shelf (actually 2), and a cute Christmas quilt. Let's just say Christmas was super fun. A week filled with baking, eating, baking, more eating, more baking... and probably an extra 5 pounds that I do not want... ;)

I guess Dave and I started a new tradition, we once again found ourselves in freezing cold Florida in January. We went for his niece, Jessica's, baptism. It was super fun (did I mention cold?). Dave's brother Kenn & his family came to join us as well! It was a housefull! Let me tell you about our flight to Florida. We left LA at 8am and flew to San Antonio then to Orlando and changed planes to go to Panama City Beach.... It was too cloudy to land in Panama, so they flew us up to Jacksonville to refuel, then flew us to Nashville (so other passengers could catch their connecting flights) We soon left Nashville and headed to Panama... STILL too foggy to land! We circled for about 30 minutes and finally landed at 11:30 PM!!! Let me remind you that Southwest does not serve food and would not let us get off the plane to buy airport food. I was starving (and crying!) It was a miserable flight!
We finally got to Emily's house at 12:30pm and went straight to bed... At 6:30am we hear our door open and 4 cute little kids SCREAM
"DAVE & CASSIE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!"
We were their surprise! It was very very fun!
We spent the week shopping and hanging out and doing crafts, it was alot of fun! One night we were all sitting on the couch and (of course) talking about babies. I turned to Heidi and said "if you get pregnant, I will too!" (famous last words....) I later received a phone call from Heidi telling me that she is pregnant and its my turn as well!... Let's just say Dave isn't for that deal, and it probably isn't happening! HaHa!
Well, we had a ton of fun and hope to go back in September. As of now, we have no more trips actually PLANNED yet. (most of my friends make fun of me cuz they think the only thing Dave & I do is travel)

I wish I had some pics to post!

Next time

Long Time, No Post!

Hello!
So I pretty much am the worst blogger--EVER! It's been so long and so much has happened since March!
I took out my Endowment on June 23rd! It was such an amazing day filled with the spirit and I am so grateful for the people that all came! 3 days after that we got married! It was seriously the best day ever! The best part of it was when Dave and I were sitting in the Celestial room with the sealer, we looked over and saw people walking in to go to our sealing. Tears filled out eyes! There were so many people that we love and look up to who came to be a part of our special day! It was so cool to see everyone dressed in white as we were sealed for time and all eternity! We are so in love! We walked out of the temple only to see a ton more people who love us! We especially loved seeing our families and the little nieces and nephews running around! The little girls were all so cute, they kept wanting to hug me and hold my flowers and be in pictures with me! It was so special!
Here's a picture of Jessica hugging me! I love it!

Addison & Scott hugging me :)

So fast forward a little to the reception! We walked into the Halladay's backyard, and it was the most BEAUTIFUL place ever (thanks to my mom!) Everything was picture perfect, we couldn't have pictured anything more perfect! Our reception was so fun! SO many people came to see us! At least 200 people came, not exaggerating (maybe even more)!! It was super cool to see everyone and meet new people (even though I don't remember anyone's name!) So the reception was perfect we had dancing and cake and food and a photobooth and a cotton candy machine!

This is us with Dave's mission companion Jeff and his beautiful wife Beth!

Our amazing cake!!

The candy bar!

The cotton candy!!

So there's a little glimpse of our wedding!
Let's just say, it was the best wedding ever, and no one can top it!!

We went on our honeymoon to San Fransisco for 4 days then flew to Arizona to go to the lake and meet up with the Neeley's for a family reunion! It was fun!In SF we went on an 8 mile bike ride across the Golden Gate Bridge into a cute little town! It was crazy, let's just say my very boney bum was sore!!

Since the wedding, we have settled into our cute little house in Newhall, California. We live only a street away from Dave's parents...
We are in such a fun ward! I like it alot (much to my surprise!)
I am nannying everyday. I work with 3 different families and am having so much fun! (its great birth control also!) Dave is working at a time-share travel agency (type thing) so he works until 10pm most nights! When he isn't working he is attending school, and when he isn't at school or working, he is building his website or working on a wedding video or a wedding invitation! Let's just say I rarely see him! We are so excited about the holidays coming up! I am going to Utah next week for my best friends wedding! Then the week after we'll be in Arizona for Thanksgiving! I am so excited to spend time with Heidi (& Kenn) and their children! For Christmas, we'll be in Utah with my family! I'm looking forward to a busy next few months!
Well, I'm off to cook dinner for my late working husband!

Hair School.. ROUND 2

Since moving to Utah, I've been in hair school... for the 2nd time! I have only 400 hours to complete, I'm just about half way through. I really like school and my amazing friends! They're so fun! The hardest part is: being 700 miles from Dave!!
Although, it really has brought us alot closer (how can that be, right?) Dave came out to visit me last week, it was SO much fun! We had such a fun week just hanging out and being within 10 feet of eachother most of the days :)
He's so cute;)

OH YAH! I'm driving to California on March 25! I'm going for my friend's bridal shower, BUT that's still a great excuse to see Dave!!

So the wedding is coming along great! Everything is finished!! Now we just have to wait for the time to pass! We've got the temple time, the reception area, the DJ, the dress, the shoes, the cake girl, the flower lady...and more!! I feel like its taking a long time for the time to pass, but part of me feels it is passing quickly.

Well, that's all for now!

Pictures, Packing & Plane Flights!

It's Sunday night, around mid-night here in Florida. Tomorrow is our last full day here with family. We're very sad to even be thinking about leaving because we fly back to LA on Tuesday then on Wednesday Dave and I drive to Utah and I move into an apartment and he gets to go back to California :(

So basically these are our last FULL days together for a while.

This is what happened: My family moved to Utah, and I was stuck with the decision to either stay in California and work at the hair salon and pool, or continue my education and move to Utah(Provo). So after long nights of thinking about all of this and talking it over with Dave, I decided it would be best if I moved, and hopefully he would apply to BYU.

So i paid for an apartment and school, planning on having a long distance relationship, then BOOM Christmas comes around and we're engaged... So even though we are engaged, I will be finishing up school in Utah for 10 weeks.

We're dreading the time apart, but hopefully it will be good for both of us. We have to pick a wedding date so that we have some sort of timeline to work off of... I want to live in Utah and work and have Dave finish school there. Dave wants to stay in California... this will be a tough one.

Okay, enough with thinking about moving.

I'm really focused on

>>HOW ARE WE GOING TO PACK ALL OF OUR CLOTHES FOR THE AIRPLANE!? <<

While we've been in Florida since December 24th, we have done quite alot of shopping. I can honestly say that we've doubled our clothing collection since we've been here. Dave loves to shop and buy new clothes, and so do I, therefore we are a toxic mix! The reason we have done so much shopping is because his sister (Emily) is a photographer and she has been taking our engagement pictures (for the past 12 days!!!).

Every location we take a picture at, Dave makes sure that we have a different outfit on than the location before!

Heres a sneak peek of a set of pictures, go to http://www.simplyyouphotostudio.com/

This is his sisters website, but a sample engagement picture is the opening slide on her site. We didnt pick that to be a main picture, but theres an idea of what we've been doing these past 12 days!

Oh yah, I forgot to put a picture of my ring up on the last post, so here it is!

First Post! (The Proposal!)

Hello!
My first blog entry! (how exciting?!)
It was Christmas morning on a warm day in Florida! People who were there: Jon (Dave's dad), Lynnette (Dave's mom), Emily (Dave's sis)and her husband Will, Jonny (Dave's bro) and his wife Stephanie, and Dave's neice and 3 nephews.
We were all sitting around taking turns opening presents. I gave Dave a new camera, the Canon 50D! He gave me an iTunes gift card. Everyone was done opening presents and I got this note that said:
"Dear Cassie, I accidentally left a carrot at the house last night. Will you please find it for me? It should be somewhere on the tree, it must have fallen out of my pocket. Thanks! Love, Santa. Merry Christmas!"

So I got up and looked, and looked, and looked.

It took seriously 10 minutes, just moving back and forth around the tree. I really couldn't find it! So finally, Dave gave me a hint and pointed a flashlight DIRECTLY at it, and I still couldnt find it! Then Jonathan pointed it out and I saw it! Beautiful! He took the ring off the branch of the tree, got down on one knee and said "will you marry me?" I answered, "Yes!" and he said "Promise?!".

It was really funny that he would ask "promise", that's a total "Dave thing" to do! Anyway, we're very excited and can't wait to be married in the temple!

Thats a picture of the ring in the tree! No wonder I couldn't find it!!
Well, as of now we have only picked our wedding colors. They are Aqua, Gray and Hot Pink! They sound funny, but look awesome togther!
We are still deciding on a date, it's very difficult to make everyone happy!

It was a very Marry Christmas!
